Silencing the fires, speaking out for peace : Displacement and ceasefires in Eastern Burma
The Mon are one of the earliest peoples to reside in Southeast Asia, and are credited with the spread of Buddhism in Burma and Thailand.
A defiant group that has risen against the central military regime on a number of occasions, the Mon signed a cease-fire in 1995. This film explores the results of that ceasefire and how the Mon are fairing.
